Social Media Reporter in Berlin

Image

The #iCollab12 project in Berlin starts with Social Media Reporter in Berlin in two of my courses both related to Social Media Research. The Social Media Reporter in Berlin is a field study, during which groups of students observe and document the different applications of social media in Berlin. Students can decide about the exact topic of their projects and follow a particular question which is interesting to them. The field research is documented in Mahara, which we use at Beuth University in Berlin for students ePortfolios.

Below you will find the links to some of the first Mahara views on individual students projects related to “Social Media Reporter in Berlin”. Students are looking to all your comments and sharing. We hope to see the reports from Manchester and Tarragona soon!

Students from Berlin are looking forward to your comments on their Mahara views (comment = feedback in Mahara) and per Twitter with #iCollab12.

Aside

Here is another blog on teachers using technology. http://tiny.cc/c4bpcw There are  similar challenges irrespective of whether it is uni or primary school!

Google hangout is more fun once you start using teh google effects in the left screen although I did not expect the photos  to be posted to my profile.

Update from the UK

Really enjoyed tonight’s Google+ hangout with the #iCollab12 team – we’re very excited about the various projects (New Zealand, Spain, Germany, UK) and can’t wait to see your final productions! The New Zealand teams have already presented some fantastic work via live web-stream, which we managed to attend despite it being late at night for us Europeans (although I did sleep in and nearly miss a flight the next day… ho hum). Thom filmed/streamed it on through his mobile phone (of course) and the video is here.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a few posts from the UK group in their capacity as ‘Social Media Reporters’:

We’re in the middle of a 3-week Easter break, so there will be much more to come. Just wanted to share some of their initial posts to give you an idea about how they’re approaching the project.
